However, Planet of Cubes Survival Games stands out from the rest of the pack, thanks to it being one of the first Minecraft-like MMO in the gaming world. This may seem like a thoroughly ambitious game, but the developers certainly delivered on giving an amazing experience. It seamlessly blends block-building and survival elements (at least in Survival mode), and you can enjoy it with countless other players!
Those unfamiliar with block-building games will be at home with Planet of Cubes Survival Games. The game starts off with you choosing from a large selection of character skins, allowing you to appear the way you want to in the online world. Next, you will be taught the game’s basic mechanics, from basic controls to digging, to cutting of logs, and crafting building materials. Everything is simple and streamlined, and once you’re done with the tutorial, you can immediately dive into multiplayer. You can do so by stepping on a portal. Once you do, you’ll be in the game world with other players.
Basically, there are two game modes: Survival and Creative. In survival, you need to craft your own materials, look for your own food, fight monsters, and take hitpoints and hunger into account. Creative mode lets you build whatever you want along with other players without having to deal with survival aspects. What you choose depends on the play style you prefer. Do you want to fight monsters and roleplay the survival elements? Or do you just want to build and architectural masterpiece?
The meat of the game is the vast online world, and once you’ve logged on, you can meet and chat with countless other players. Though best played with friends, you can go around and interact with strangers and make friends online. The game is set in a vast infinite world, and you can find a perfect spot for yourself to build an architectural wonder that can be marveled on by other players. However, keep in mind that when you build something it can easily be destroyed by those online.
In creative mode, you can rent your own space - called CHUNKS - wherein you can build and modify new buildings. However, this may require you to make payments, which means you may only have a limited number of spaces to build your masterpieces. Take note that when your rent expires, you won’t be able to modify your buildings, so be sure to pay on time!
Overall, Planet of Cubes Survival Games is a fantastic game, making it one of the best Minecraft clones. With easy controls and a step by step tutorial, you will find it easy to get into, and the multiplayer modes are relatively stable and fun, especially since you get to enjoy everything with loads of other people. Like all games though, it isn’t perfect: the ads are sometimes invasive, and may get in the way of you playing it. Moreover, the controls can be a bit clunky if you’re not used to it.
Nevertheless, if you haven’t played Planet of Cubes Survival Games yet, it is a highly recommended entry, being one of the best block-building and survival MMORPGs to date.
